After a long wait we have had some good news from the DWP. The delays in processing claims for Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) when a medical assessment is required are coming to an end! Procedures are now in place to assess IIDB claims for those diagnosed with Asbestosis and Pleural Thickening. Thank you DWP!
Claims for compensation
The Asbestom Victims Support Groups’ Forum makes this appeal to the DWP, “Please don’t let applicants miss out on a higher level of awards from the Government lump sum compensation scheme. These delays in assessment, and changes in their age while they were waiting, could reduce ther lump sum unless you act now!”
